Starlight Season 10: (2014-2015)
What Is Susan's Secret?
An American farce by Michael and Susan Parker
Directed by Lisa Sodman Elzinga
October 17-18 & 24-25, 2014
Dinner at 6:30 pm | Performance at 7:30 pm
October 26, 2014
Dessert at 1:30 pm | Performance at 2:00 pm
At first, elderly innkeepers Michael and Susan Edwards (Chris Klaver and Kris Pecora) appear to be bordering on senility —but they are clever con artists using an elaborate check-in form to trick guests into doing tasks and improvements at the inn. Plumbers, tile layers, carpenters and electricians are recruited to do work they never expected. The characters vary from the world’s most boring man, (his wife says he’s had charisma bypass surgery), to a young couple on their honeymoon. Twelve guests are played by four actors: Laura Croff Wheaton, Linda Granger, Michael Mahoney and Michael Nelson. So, what is Susan’s secret? Find out in the last few seconds of the show!

The Garage Sale

This funny, touching, hour-long show introduces us to a rag doll (TBA) and a teddy bear (Chris Klaver) who meet for the first time when they are put up for sale in a two-family garage sale. These seemingly incompatible toys romp through dilemmas of love and loss that are decidedly grown-up, as they face life’s challenges and barriers to intimacy. Up for debate are such topics as the existence of Santa Claus and what it means to be “anatomically correct.”
