    • The shutdown halted the show after two performances, so most of the voters weren’t able to see it. Those who did, however, said the married Burnhams were excellent playing a married couple that was royal and in disarray.

  • The Robert Busby Award for overall contributions to local theater: Starlight Dinner Theatre and its founder, Linda Granger
    • For 13 seasons, Granger and her theater have shown dedication and perseverance, while building a loyal audience and filling some key gaps. They’ve provided light comedies – plus in some years, ambitious musicals – in a setting (dinner theater) that otherwise would have been missing from Lansing Area.

This year has two posthumous awards involving “Steel Magnolias.” Winifred Olds, a towering figure in local theater who died at 88, played the eccentric Ouiser; Diane Erley, who died at 66, worked on the elaborate props.”
